About Elam Acres
The vision for Elam Acres began many years before we ever knew what was to come. It started with Amanda's love for her grandpa and riding on the back of his tractor as a child on summer vacations in Altamont, NY over 45 years ago. Fast forward to 2006 and the long-ago sewn seed finally germinated in an old sandbox in the back of a rental property where Amanda created her first garden bed. For all the gardeners out there, you know that one garden bed ALWAYS leads to more...Enter Wendell in 2007, when the two became a pair and that little seed of an idea began to germinate. Over the subsequent years the gardens grew. A southerly move to North Carolina led to finding the 11-acre plot in Albemarle, NC in 2020 that is now Elam Acres.Even then we did not know we were going to become a flower farm. We did not know we were going to become beekeepers. What we did know was that we love the land and we love building a habitat for native plants and pollinators to thrive.Elam Acres Flower Farm truly took shape in our hearts in 2024 when we decided to expand our garden one more time after our first successful year beekeeping. We will always be learning, but we strive today to create a beautiful space; to cultivate naturally grown cut flowers, herbs and honeybees; providing seasonal flowers and other products to our community, both locally and online. We're so glad you are here!
